One: The intensity level was high from the drop of the first puck between these two clubs. Columbus was able to sustain pressure in the Penguins zone for extended periods of time, at certain points of the game.
Two: This was a battle of goalies, and it came down to which one would break first. Two costly mistakes by the Blue Jackets led to two quick goals by Pittsburgh. The Penguins were not really the better team tonight.
Three: Boone Jenner continues to impress with his poise. For having a reputation coming into training camp as having a quick fuse, he's shown remarkable poise for a young rookie. He manages to draw penalties without being goaded into retaliating. Keep your eye on him as he matures.
