The community of Oak Cliff is grieving after six people were killed in a single-car crash late Sunday evening. According to the Dallas Morning News, three of those individuals were football players at Kimball High School in Dallas.

Freshmen Trey Woodberry, an offensive tackle, and Kentron Haskins, a receiver, and sophomore defensive tackle Desedric Johnson were identified by multiple outlets as being among the victims. They were reportedly between the ages of 15 and 16.

"They were good kids and seemed like they were going to be really good leaders," Carlton Nelson, Kimball's football coach, told local media.

According to reports, the other three victims were a 20-year-old male driver and 21- and 23-year-old women. One outlet reported that the two women were sisters.

According to reports, the Chevrolet Impala was speeding when a back tire clipped a curb at about 9:10 p.m. and spun out into a median, hitting a tree. Four were pronounced dead at the scene while two died shortly after arriving at Baylor Medical Center.

Multiple reports stated police considered speed to be a factor in the accident, but not alcohol. According to NBC-5 in Dallas-Fort Worth, a nearby driver said the car was going far in excess of the posted 40 mph speed limit.

"He was driving at a high rate of speed. I want to say he was doing at least 100 miles an hour," Lynn Payne, who was driving behind the Impala, told NBC-5. "Payne said. “I told my daughter, I said, 'Oh my god, if he don’t slow that car down something is going to happen."

Monday, a memorial was in place at the scene of the crash, and later in the evening more than 100 people gathered for a vigil at the crash site.

Grief counselors were provided by the Dallas ISD to the local high school, middle school, and elementary school where the victims had family members.
