Three Georgia high school football players were killed Tuesday morning in a single-car accident that left a fourth player in critical condition.

Rising seniors Jicarre Watkins and Shawn Waters and rising junior Johnie Parker were killed in the crash.

All four players attended Brooks County High School in Quitman, Ga., a small town in the southern part of the state near the Florida-Georgia border.

According to a school press release, the fourth player, rising junior Devron Whitfield, was life-flighted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., after being ejected from the vehicle.

The accident occurred near Brooks County High School around 9:30 a.m.

Brooks County won the 1-AA Region title last season, with Watkins earning all-regional honors as a defensive lineman.

The team went 12-1 last season, one of the best records in school history.
