'The world [hasn't] seen the best of Darren McFadden,' according to Darren McFadden
The Dallas Cowboys lost the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year DeMarco Murray but gained seven-year veteran Darren McFadden this offseason.
The new Cowboys running back was a guest on NFL Network's "NFL AM" Friday to talk about his new home. While McFadden hasn't put up Murray-type numbers, he does have confidence he can move the ball.
"I just want to go out there and continue to show people what I can do," he said. "I still don't think the world has seen the best of Darren McFadden."
Third-person aside, McFadden seemed genuinely excited about his opportunity in Dallas.
When asked about whether Tony Romo took a pay cut so the Cowboys could sign him (referring of course to news that Romo offered to take a cut to keep Murray), McFadden joked, "I think we're in different tax brackets then."
Even the possibility of adding Adrian Peterson to the backfield didn't faze him.
"It wouldn't surprise me at all," he said. "I'm a guy who's been in the league seven, eight years now. A team doesn't want to just put their everything on a guy. ... I'm a competitive guy, it'll bring out the best in me."
