The Ultimate Teams by Scout are a regional-based team and are based not just on high school production but also on college projection and includes prospects that have played at least one season of varsity football, from the 2015, 2016 and 2017 classes.
The Northern California Team includes players from over the Grapevine into the Central Valley all the way up to the California-Oregon border.
QB- Jake Browning, 6-2, 205, Folsom (Calif.)- The California State Player of the Year as a 2013 junior and the MaxPreps National Junior of the Year, the Washingtoncommit is rewriting the record books while putting up a plethora of yards in the Bulldogs passing game.
RB- Kirk Johnson, 5-11, 190, San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian- The Texas commit ran for 1,228 yards as a junior and was the SPARQ MVP at the Oakland NFTC.
RB- Bolu Olorunfunmi, 5-11, 210, Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North- The UCLA verbal ran for almost 2,350 yards and 24 touchdowns after rushing for over 1,000 as a sophomore.
WR- L.J. Reed, 6-3, 220, Elk Grove (Calif.) Cosumnes Oaks- The UCLA commit teamed with Alex Van Dyke to form one of the best receiver tandems in the West, and he's also a bigtime basketball player.
WR- Collin Johnson (2016), 6-4, 195, San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian- Though he plays in a run-friendly offense, the Texas commit is one of the premier receiver prospects nationally.
TE- Tyler Petite, 6-5, 225, Moraga (Calif.) Campolindo- Surprised many by committing to Duke, but it wasn't a surprise how bigtime a tight end prospect he is, with 24 catches for 495 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior.
OT- Dru Samia, 6-6, 295, Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley- The four-star has double-digit offers and was the Oakland NFTC OL MVP before a stellar showing at The Opening.
OT- Kieffer Longson, 6-7, 300, San Ramon (Calif.) Dougherty Valley- Really blossomed this spring, particularly in pass-blocking, the four-star has offers from all over but recently named a top six.
C- Dominic Fredrickson, 6-3, 300, Oakley (Calif.) Freedom- Played tackle as a junior but has worked as an interior lineman all spring and was a big reason five-star running back Joe Mixon ran for over 2,000 yards last fall.
OG- Cody Creason, 6-4, 270, Folsom (Calif.)- The Arizona verbal was the anchor of the offensive line for the Bulldogs that has allowed Jake Browning to put up the stats he has the past two seasons.
OG- Jake Hanson, 6-4.5, 280, Eureka (Calif.)- Oregon has found a gem just a little bit south of their border, getting a commitment from the Eureka offensive lineman.
DL- Kahlil McKenzie, 6-3, 330, Concord (Calif.) Clayton Valley- Not just the top player in Northern California, McKenzie is Scout's No. 1 prospect in the 2015 class and the MVP of The Opening's DL will follow his father and uncle's footsteps toTennessee.
DL- Jacob Daniel, 6-4, 298, Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North- A mainstay on Clovis North's defensive line the past two seasons, the USC commit is one of the better defensive linemen in the country.
DL- Thomas Toki, 6-1, 292, Mountain View (Calif.) St. Francis- Playing his first season in Northern California after moving from Washington, the Washington Statecommit was excellent on the NFTC circuit this spring in the Golden State.
DL- Boss Tagaloa (2016), 6-3, 250, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle- Played varsity for the famed Spartans program as a freshman, Tagaloa was an all-state underclass pick in 2013 and is back and healthy for his junior year.
LB- Caleb Kelly (2016), 6-2, 225, Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West- The West's top defensive prospect in the 2016 class, the five-star was outstanding every time we saw him in the spring and summer which explains why he's got offers from coast-to-coast.
LB- Cameron Smith, 6-2, 230, Granite Bay (Calif.)- Helped lead the Grizzlies to a state title as a sophomore and has made almost 400 tackles the past two seasons. The USC commit is the West's top middle linebacker in the 2015 class.
LB- Simba Short, 6-2, 200, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle- Often overshadowed by the other stars on the Spartans defense, the Northwestern pledge has been a stalwart for De La Salle the past two years.
CB- Isaiah Langley, 6-0, 165, Pleasanton (Calif.) Foothill- One of the best two-way prospects in the region, Langley is a gifted receiver but has a high ceiling at cornerback, where he'll play for USC.
CB- A.J. Greeley, 6-2, 175, Fresno (Calif.) Edison- The DB MVP at the Oregon NFTC, Greeley committed to play for the hometown Fresno State Bulldogs but they'll have their work cut out trying to hold on to him.
SA- Darrell Adams, 6-3, 210, Hayward (Calif.) Stellar Prep- One of the most physically imposing prospects in the Bay Area, Adams also plays receiver and could even grow into an outside linebacker, but most of his offers are for safety.
SA- Shurod Thompson (2016), 6-1, 185, Pittsburg (Calif.)- The top 2016 defensive back in the Bay Area, the four-star is a top 10 safety nationally with offers from most of the Pac-12.
ATH- Stephen Johnson, 5-10.5, 187, San Leandro (Calif.)- The UCLA commit plays quarterback for his high school team, is ranked as a four-star cornerback, which he also plays and will play receiver when he gets to Westwood.
K- Matt Abramo, 6-2, 170, Petaluma (Calif.) Casa Grande- The Washington State commitment is the top kicker in the West and gives Casa Grande a Pac-12 commitment for the third straight year.
P- Alex Galland, 6-2, 180, Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty- Can both punt and kick and is a top 50 punter by Chris Sailer Kicking.
LS- Grant Gluhaich, 5-11, 185, San Jose (Calif.) Bellarmine Prep- The top snapper in the Bay Area, Gluhaich is ranked No. 12 in the country by Rubio Longsnapping.
