Texans' Foster inactive against Giants, rookie Blue starts
Texans running back Arian Foster was not active for Houston's Sunday afternoon game against the New York Giants at Metlife Stadium.
Foster, the NFL's second leading rusher heading into Week 2 of the season, was limited in practice the past week due to a hamstring injury. He was listed as questionable for the game Friday, and was later made inactive after working out in the end zone prior to kickoff.
Foster has carried the ball 55 times in the Texans' first two games against Washington and Oakland for 241 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Rookie running back Alfred Blue replaced Foster in the starting lineup. Blue has gained 40 yards on 12 carries in the first two games of his pro career.
Foster missed eight games last season due to a back injury, which required surgery in November. He has struggled in the past with hamstring and calf injuries prior to the 2013 season as well as in training camp before this season.
