The Houston Texans have agreed to a deal with running back Andre Brown to help fill the void left by former backup Ben Tate, FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Peter Schrager and other media report.

Brown played the last two seasons with the Giants, battling through a broken leg in each of his two years in New York. Despite only playing in the final half of the season last year, Brown finished the season with a career-high 492 yards along with three touchdowns while averaging 3.5 yards per carry.

Brown, who is expected to be Arian Foster's backup, tweeted out a photo of himself signing the contract wearing a Texans cap confirming the news.

After Tate signed a two-year deal with the Cleveland Browns last month, adding another running back was made a priority by the Texans with Foster set to return from a back injury that required surgery in November.

Along with Foster and Brown, Houston also has Dennis Johnson, Deji Karim and Jonathan Grimes at running back on the roster.
