Terrelle Pryor ruled out, Matt McGloin to get nod for Raiders
By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com Raiders fans, rejoice. The Matt McGloin era is officially underway. Terrelle Pryor, who has been dealing with a nagging knee injury all week, has been officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, according to multiple reports. While head coach Dennis Allen was trying to hold out hope that the second-year QB could suit up, he was deemed inactive on Saturday. So, who is Matt McGloin? The undrafted free agent from Penn State beat out fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson for the third-string job in camp. He has shown flashes of potential and in Week 5 was named the backup QB, leap-frogging Matt Flynn. McGloin had a record-setting career in Happy Valley, but didn’t received an invitation to the annual NFL Scouting Combine. McGloin was a three-sport athlete in high school and didn't receive any offers coming out of high school. He walked on to Penn State and contributed right away. To make this one even sweeter, McGloin will be squaring off against Case Keenum, another undrafted free agent QB.
