TCU's 66-17 win over New Mexico has them thinking Rose Bowl but not everything about the win left them smelling roses.
Star quarterback Andy Dalton left midway through the second quarter after injuring his elboy on a sack.
Dalton, the nation's active quarterback leader with 40 victories, was setting up to pass when he was hit by New Mexico defensive end Jabari Greer and fumbled. Dalton was examined by trainers and did not return to the ball game.
Fortunately for the Horned Frogs, Dalton's injury didn't appear serious as he was soon spotted on the sideline cheering on his teammates.
Freshman Casey Patchall took most of the snaps in Dalton's absence, completing 4 of 6 passes for 54 yards and a touchdown as well as adding 31 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
