TCU beats Arkansas State 77-54
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Vlad Brodziansky scored 18 points, including seven straight for TCU in a key second-half stretch, and the Horned Frogs remained undefeated under Jamie Dixon with a 77-54 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday night.
TCU (8-0) led by only a bucket before Brodziansky's short baseline hook shot with 13:47 left started his seven points in a span of 55 seconds to start a 9-2 run. Brodziansky also had two free throws before a three-point play, and the Frogs led 46-37 after a short jumper by JD Miller.
Dixon, the former TCU player who was Pittsburgh's coach the past 13 seasons, is the first Frogs coach to ever win his first eight games.
Devin Carter had 22 points and C.J. Foster 13 to lead Arkansas State (7-2). Former Baylor assistant Grant McCasland is in his first season with the Sun Belt Conference team.
After winning consecutive games over Washington, in a tournament at Las Vegas last weekend and then at home Wednesday night, TCU took the lead for good against the Red Wolves right after halftime. Alex Robinson had a steal and got the ball back from Karviar Shepherd for a breakaway layup that made it 32-31.
Brodziansky was 7-of-7 shooting. Kenrich Williams had 15 points and 13 rebounds while freshman point guard Jaylen Fisher had 13 points.

TCU has two more games before a week off during finals exams. The Horned Frogs go to the other side of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to play at SMU on Wednesday, and then are home again next Saturday against Wofford.
