PHOENIX -- Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi has undergone successful surgery to repair a broken bone in her left hand that she hurt playing in a game for her Russian club team.

Taurasi announced in February that she would skip the 2015 WNBA season after accepting an offer from her Russian club, UMMC Ekaterinburg, to rest.

The Mercury said Monday that she was injured last weekend and will be sidelined four to six weeks.

The Russian league finals are in late April and early May, and the 32-year-old hopes to be back for them. She had the surgery performed in Los Angeles.
