Tashaun Gipson active, starting against Texans
CLEVELAND -- Browns safety Tashaun Gipson is active and will start for the Browns against the Texans. Gipson missed most of the week going through the NFL's concussion protocol after suffering a concussion last week against the Bengals.
Gipson was cleared by an independent neurologist on Saturday and upgraded to probable. Gipson's availability is a shot in the arm to the defense as Gipson currently leads the NFL with six interceptions.
The Browns lost Phil Taylor to season-ending knee surgery this week and Billy Winn starts for him. Other inactives for the Browns are DB Johnson Bademosi, DB Pierre Desire, RB Glenn Winston, OL Vinston Painter, TE Jordan Cameron and LB Keith Pough.
Cameron will miss his third-straight game since suffering a concussion against the Raiders.
Jim Dray is to start in place of Cameron at tight end.
The big inactive for the Texans is RB Arian Foster, who will sit with a groin injury. He will be replaced by RB Alfred Blue. Other inactives were: QB Tom Savage, WR DeVier Posey, CB Kareem Jackson, S Josh Aubrey, LB Max Bullough and T Jeff Adams.
