Sy hits late 3-pointers to give NMSU win

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Bandja Sy drilled a 3-pointer with 3.2 seconds left and New Mexico State spoiled a second-half comeback to beat Texas-Arlington 69-66 on Saturday night.

New Mexico State (21-10, 14-4 Western Athletic) also got 12 points from K.C. Ross-Miller and 11 points from Daniel Mullings.

Sim Bhullar contributed 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Texas-Arlington (17-12, 11-7) got 14 points and four steals from Kevin Butler and 11 points from Karol Gruszecki. Shaq White-Miller handed out eight assists.

New Mexico State enters the conference tournament as the third seed and will face Idaho on Thursday. Fourth-seeded Texas-Arlington ppen with No. 5 Utah State on Thursday night.
