Looking at a box score is something anyone can do. Who lead my team in scoring? How’d we shoot from the field? And while that knowledge is useful, does it really earn you bonus points around the water cooler? That’s why I’m here. I’m bringing you the S.W.I.M: Statistics Worth Increased Media. Let Joe from accounting regurgitate what he heard on the way in this morning; you’re better than that. Use these nuggets to gain a unique perspective about last night’s Thunder/Raptors game.

Russell Westbrook has 35 turnovers in 206 minutes this month.

For the 23rd time in 37 games this season, Westbrook missed at least three three pointers.

How often does Kevin Durant get to the free throw line? He is one of the better free throw shooters in NBA history (top 15 in terms of percentage), yet he has missed more freebies this season than Jameer Nelson (nearly 2,000 minutes played this year) has made.

That makes three consecutive games in which Durant has made at least three triples and handed out five assists. He has done that twice in two months after not doing it once in his career.

Reggie Jackson had a good game going, but with a few late misses, his FG% fell under 50%. He has shot better than 50% from the field only once in the last 1.5 months.

Serge Ibaka hadn’t missed three three pointers in a game since the second contest of this season.

Caron Butler has yet to shoot better than 40% from the field in his Thunder career. His five steals in this one, however, were more than he recorded in his first eight games as a member of OKC.

For the first time this month, Kyle Lowry had more than two steals in a game … and then the second half started.

Raptors had won seven of last eight games in which DeMar DeRozan turned the ball over at least four times.

Terrence Ross hadn’t gone back-to-back games without a 3PM (minimum one attempt) since November 13-15.

Ross now has as many games with fewer than ten points as he does greater than 13 points (nine) since his 51-point effort against the Clippers.

It’s now been two weeks since John Salmons had an assist during a home game.

This was Amir Johnson’s fourth double double in the last three months in which he attempted a three pointer; his second against the Thunder.
