Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week by the conference on Monday.
Sutton had arguably his best career game in ASU's 27-17 win over Cal on Saturday, tying a career high with eight tackles, tallying three sacks and forcing a fumble.
His four tackles for loss were a major factor in the Sun Devils' defense holding the Bears to 285 yards of total offense. Cal had been averaging more than 400 yards of offense per game.
Sutton now has six sacks this season, and his average of 1.30 sacks per game is tied for second in the conference and eighth nationally. He also is second in the Pac-12 and ninth nationally in tackles for loss per game with 10 total.
