Arizona State will get a first-round matchup against All-America forward Doug McDermott and the Creighton Blue Jays in November's Wooden Legacy tournament on Thanksgiving weekend in southern California.

McDermott averaged 23.2 points per game last season for Creighton, which finished 28-8. He is one of four returning starters for the Blue Jays. The second leading returning scorer in the eight-team Wooden tournament is ASU sophomore guard Jahii Carson, who averaged 18.5.

The game will be played on Thanksgiving night (Nov. 28) at 9 p.m. (Arizona time) at Titan Gym on Cal State Fullerton's campus and will be televised by ESPN2. Also on ASU's side of the bracket are San Diego State and College of Charleston, both of which topped 20 wins last season.

In the other first-round matchups, announced Wednesday, Miami (Fla.) will meet George Washington and Cal State Fullerton hosts Marquette.

The second round of the three-day tournament will remain at Titan Gym on Friday, Nov. 29, with the final day's action moving to the Honda Center in Anaheim on Sunday, Dec. 1.

ASU and Creighton also played in early season tournament action last year, with the Blue Jays winning 87-73 on Nov. 24 in Las Vegas behind McDermott's 29 points.
