NEW YORK (AP) Sudden Surprise delivered another win Sunday, beating Dr. Shane by a half-length in the $150,000 New York Stallion Stakes for 2-year-olds at Aqueduct.

The colt owned and bred by former beverage executive Mike Repole improved to 5 for 6.

John Velazquez returned from Gulfstream Park to ride the 1-5 favorite for trainer Todd Pletcher.

''It was an easy day down there in Florida, so I might as well take the call here,'' Velazquez said. ''I try to follow him, so I don't lose him.''
