The Texas Rangers aren't cursed by the exit of Nolan Ryan, the renaming of the ballpark or the spirit of Game Six.

What they are though is the current major league leader in weird non-baseball injuries. And for those looking for a Ryan tie-in to the problems, the peculiar troubles started last season when Ryan was still with the organization.

Here's a look at the odd injuries that have slowed the Rangers since the start of 2013.

Elvis Andrus' tattoo: The Texas shortstop wanted to honor his late father and decided to have a tattoo of him put on his left arm during spring training last year. What Andrus didn't expect was the soreness that accompanied the work. Andrus was scratched from a spring training game because of the pain.

Jeff Baker's celebration gone wrong: Baker was a big part of the Rangers' success early last season. His season came to a screeching halt in the summer though when he sprained his right thumb after a high five with an overzealous teammate. The injury was bad enough that it led to Texas putting him on the disabled list on June 18. He missed more than a month before coming back to the team July 19. He hit .317 before the injury and just .236 once he returned.

Derek Holland's dog: Wrigley Holland has it bad enough that he has his own Twitter account that started after Wrigley knocked Derek Holland down the stairs of their house after the two were playing around in January. The fall led to microfracture surgery for Holland on his left knee on Jan. 10. Holland has spent the entire 2014 season rehabbing and could make his return to the rotation before the All-Star break.

Joseph Ortiz and the motorcycle: Ortiz spent his offseason in his native Venezuela but things turn a bad turn in January when Ortiz had his left foot run over by a man on a motorcycle when Ortiz was trying to cross the street. The injury led to surgery in Jan. 31 surgery for Ortiz, who had four stints with the Rangers last season. Ortiz is still rehabbing the injury and has yet to appear in a game.

Matt Harrison's bed: This one is now debatable because of the current injury to the Texas starter. But Harrison's season got off to an ominous start when he slept on a mattress that was too soft in Surprise. That led to a sore back for Harrison and trip to Dallas to see back specialist Dr. Drew Dossett. Harrison started the season on the disabled list because of the lost time. He returned to the rotation before being lost for the season and possibly his career because of spondylolisthesis, which may force him to have spinal fusion surgery.

Yu Darvish's bad night of sleep: The Texas ace started the season on the disabled list because of a stiff neck. The reason his neck was stiff? It was likely started by a bad night of sleep. The good news for the Rangers and Darvish was that the issue was minor and cost him just one start.

Jurickson Profar's bad night of sleep: The Rangers second baseman has been on the disabled list all season because a muscle strain just below his right arm pit. Profar had been rehabbing in Arizona in an attempt to come back. That's now on hold though as Profar re-strained the muscle. He told the team it could have happened when he rolled over the wrong way while he's sleeping. He's expected to miss at least eight to 12 weeks and he season could be over.
