CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Mark Richt's contract at Miami has been extended for two years, meaning he's now in line to remain at his alma mater through the 2023 season.
The Hurricanes announced the extension Thursday. He agreed to a six-year deal in December 2015, earning about $4 million annually.
Richt is 19-7 in his first two years at Miami. He led the Hurricanes to the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division championship last season.
Miami went 10-3 last season, its first double-digit win year since 2003 and went to the Orange Bowl. Richt was the ACC's coach of the year and won the Walter Camp national coach of the year award.
