Sri Lanka wins toss and bats in 3rd test vs. Australia
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss Saturday and chose to bat first in the third test against Australia at the Sinhalese Sports Club.
Sri Lanka leads the three-match series 2-0 while No. 1 ranked Australia looks to avoid an embarrassing 3-0 whitewash after disappointing with the bat in the first two tests.
Australia dropped opener Joe Burns and No. 3 Usman Khawaja due to poor form and replaced them with batsman Shaun Marsh and all-rounder Moises Henriques, who plays his first test in more than three years.
Fast bowler Suranga Lakmal has recovered from injury and has returned to the side with Vishwa Fernando who made his test debut in the last game making way for him.
