Sri Lanka controls 2nd test despite Starc's 11-wicket haul

GALLE, Sri Lanka (AP) Sri Lanka set Australia a huge total of 413 runs to win the second test on Friday despite fast bowler Mitchell Starc's standout performance with 11 match wickets.

Sri Lanka was bowled out for 237 in its second innings, building on a 175-run lead it secured in the first innings after Australia's collapse from 54-2 overnight to 106 all out.

Dilruwan Perera top scored with 64 runs while captain Angelo Mathews made 47.

Starc returned 6-50 for a career-best match haul of 11-94.

Earlier, Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath had a hat trick to help dismiss the Australians.

Sri Lanka, which made 281 in its first innings, leads the three-match series 1-0.
