Sporting KC will open 2018 MLS season at home March 4 vs. NYCFC

Sporting Kansas City will open its 2018 Major League Soccer season at home March 4 against New York City FC, the league announced Tuesday. It is the earliest home opener in club history.
The only other Sporting KC match that was revealed was a March 10 road game at the Chicago Fire. That game is known because MLS confirmed all 23 clubs' home openers Tuesday.
The full MLS regular-season schedule will be announced in January.
