Spieth on golf winnings from Romo: 'I can't even count that high'

Not only does Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo have to pay the greens fee when he golfs with friend and Dallas native Jordan Spieth -- he also coughs up what amounts to a "Spieth fee," which is the cost of losing a wager to the Masters champion who mercilessly beats Romo.

Romo knows his way around the links, by the way. Golf Digest once listed him as a scratch golfer. But Spieth just won a green jacket after running laps around many of the best golfers in the world.

"The good news is he doesn't swallow his pride and take a lot of strokes," Spieth told Jim Rome during an appearance on Rome's Showtime program. "He likes to play maybe like 2 or 3 a side, which means I'm usually on the winning end of that one."

"Oh, man. I don't know. I can't even count that high," Spieth said. "He's a good friend and a great competitor, so we have fun out there."

Spieth has picked up nearly $5 million in earnings (not including sponsorship dollars) after only 10 PGA Tour events this season. Romo ought to either take a few more strokes when they play or think about reallocating some of that charity money.
