Earlier this year, Nick DiAntonio began a program in Milford, Mass., designed to give student-athletes with intellectual challenges a place to have fun and enjoy the sport of wrestling.

In just a short period of time, the program has become a tremendous success.

“I honestly believe that it empowers [the student-athletes]. I think they see what they can do on the mat in a sport that sometimes is considered off-limits for them, and they’re out there excelling on the mat, and they’re out there doing things that many people think they can’t be able to do,” said DiAntonio, the founder and coach of the Milford Special Athletes Wrestling Program.

“And they just have an absolute blast doing it, too. It’s so much fun.”
