Southwest becomes Brewers' airline sponsor
MILWAUKEE – The Brewers announced Monday that Southwest Airlines has become the team's official airline sponsor.
The sponsorship agreement includes in-stadium signing, an interactive fan experience on Miller Park's field level and an in-game feature, "How Far Did It Fly," during home games.
"We look forward to what will be a great new partnership with Southwest Airlines," said Milwaukee Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. "Both organizations share a strong commitment to the Milwaukee market, and we’re excited about the unique opportunities that this will bring to both the Brewers and our fans."
Southwest replaces AirTran as the official airline sponsor. Southwest is in the process of completing a purchase of the airline, which has a large presence at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport. As part of the new partnership, Southwest has launched the "Brewers Spring Away Sweepstakes," which gives fans a chance to win a three-night trip for two to watch the Brewers at Spring Training in Phoenix.
"The People of Milwaukee are passionate about their hometown Brewers, and Southwest Airlines is passionate about Milwaukee," said Southwest Airlines Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Distribution Kevin Krone. "We’re excited by all the opportunities this partnership will bring not only to our valued Customers, but to Brewers fans as well."
