Sooners fall late to Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Rotnei Clarke scored 20 points, connecting on 3 of 5 3-pointers, as Arkansas held on in the second half for an 84-74 win over Oklahoma on Wednesday.

Ten players scored for the Razorbacks (4-1), who were coming off their first loss of the season against Alabama-Birmingham. Jeff Peterson added 15 points for Arkansas, which shot 51 percent.

The loss for Oklahoma (3-4) was its fourth straight after opening the season with three wins. Andrew Fitzgerald led the Sooners with 18 points, while Calvin Newell had 15 and Nick Thompson 13.

Arkansas led by six points at halftime but stretched that lead to as many as 17 in the second half. An 11-2 run put the Razorbacks up 59-42, but Oklahoma closed the lead to as few as seven late in the game before the Razorbacks held on.
