Site, billboard pushing Manziel for Texans
If the Houston Texans didn't already have enough pressure on them to take Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel with the first pick of the NFL Draft, there's now a reminder in Houston.
Tony Buzbee, a Texas A&M regent, has launched the website www.draftjohnnymanziel.com as well as put up a billboard in the Houston area to remind the Texans whom they should pick with the top choice.
The site's home page includes a picture of Manziel in an A&M uniform as well as a Photoshopped image of Manziel in a Texans uniform.
There is also a petition on the site intended to send a message to Texans owner Bob McNair about who should be the top overall pick. More than 400 people have signed the online petition. The site also includes videos, testimonials, other Manziel news and a link to a Facebook page with more than 1,500 likes.
The site says that if the Texans use the No. 1 pick on Manziel, the team will once again have hopes of Super Bowl glory.
According to the Galveston Daily News, Buzbee is an attorney and neighbor of McNair and believes the ad campaign will help persuade him to draft Manziel. The story said more billboards are coming.
