The Phoenix Mercury has waived forwards Amanda Johnson and Chastity Reed and former Arizona State Dymond Simon on Wednesday, reducing its roster to 13 players. Finals cuts to the 11-player limit must be made by Thursday.
The Mercury tips off the regular season on Sunday in Minnesota against the defending champion Lynx. Tipoff is slated for 9:30 a.m. (Arizona time). The game will be broadcast on ABC. The Mercury makes its home debut on May 26 against Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks at 7 p.m.
