Sights & Sounds: Getting ready to race in 'Hotlanta'

5 p.m. ET -- It's race day at Atlanta Motor Speedway!

The teams are hard at work in the heat in the garage, as drivers are spending time with fans and hospitality guests.

5:20 p.m. ET -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. got a bit star struck when caught up with former "Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider.

5:25 p.m. ET -- Everyone is starting to file in for the driver-crew chief meeting before Sunday night's race. 

5:40 p.m. ET -- You never know what you will see when you head to a NASCAR race. For example, you might see a person get shot out of a cannon. 

6:30 p.m. ET -- Atlanta is known as one of the toughest tracks on tires, so the teams are prepared to change a lot of tires throughout the night. 

For the No. 48 organization, it is a total team effort to get the car ready for Sunday's race. 

6:45 p.m. ET -- The start of Sunday night's race is fast-approaching as the cars are lined up on the frontstretch. 

7:05 p.m. ET -- Kurt Busch found some new friends prior to driver introductions. 

7:30 p.m. ET -- The kids are out and about tonight on pit road, showing their support for their dads.
