Paceman Peter Siddle has been ruled out of the remaining three limited-overs internationals in India, joining a growing list of Australian injuries from the series. Siddle injured his left side in a series-leveling 24-run win over India at Mohali on Monday night and Cricket Australia announced Tuesday that he would be sent home to Melbourne. With Brett Lee and James Hopes already sent home from India with injuries and veteran seamer Nathan Bracken injured ahead of the series, Australia's bowling stocks are diminishing. Wicketkeeper Tim Paine was also sent home with a broken finger, while vice-captain Michael Clarke and batsman Cullen Ferguson were ruled out with injuries before the series started. No replacement has been named for Siddle, who bowled only five overs in Mohali. "Peter's injury does not appear to be a serious problem but it is unlikely he will be able to safely bowl within the next week, which would therefore not allow him to have any further participation in the tour," Kevin Sims, the Australian team's physiotherapist, said in a statement. "With this in mind we have made the decision that Peter will return to Australia where he will reviewed by Cricket Australia medical staff to ensure he is available for selection at the beginning of the Australian summer." Australia went into the series after retaining the Champions Trophy and the No. 1 ranking in South Africa. It will play the West Indies and Pakistan in test series over the southern summer. India hosts Sri Lanka in a full tour starting later this month.
