NEW YORK (AP) Shangala celebrated her return to Aqueduct with a 27-1 victory Thursday in the $57,000 allowance feature for New York bred fillies and mares.

The 3-year-old trained by Debra Breed spent the summer and early fall at Finger Lakes, where she had five wins in seven starts. Shangala competed here last winter, never finishing better than third in four races.

Angel Arroyo was aboard as she ran six furlongs in 1:12.31 over the track rated good.

Shangala held off 7-5 favorite Women Win by a half-length, paying $57, $15.20 and $7.90. Women Win returned $3.80 and $3, and Even Bette paid $4.90 to show.
