Seven Gators were named on the 2014 Preseason Coaches All-Southeastern Conference Football Teams, as announced by the SEC Thursday.

Junior defensive lineman Dante Fowler, Jr. and sophomore defensive back Vernon Hargreaves III were chosen as First-Team All-SEC selections. Florida was one of only three schools to have multiple defensive players tabbed to the first team.

In addition, redshirt senior offensive lineman Chaz Green was a second-team selection on offense, while junior offensive lineman D.J. Humphries and junior running back Matt Jones made the third-team. On defense, junior linebacker Antonio Morrison was a third-team choice, while redshirt senior Andre Debose made the third-team as a return specialist.

Fowler, who was named to the Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy Preseason Watch Lists, was an All-SEC Second Team selection last season. He totaled 10.5 tackles-for-loss in 2013, which is the fifth most of any returning SEC player.

Hargreaves, a First-Team All-SEC selection in his true freshman season, enters 2014 as a player to watch on five postseason award lists, including the Walter Camp Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. The defensive back tied a Florida freshman record last year with 11 pass breakups.

After missing the entire 2013 season, Green returns to the Gators offensive line. The redshirt senior was a 2011 Freshman All-American and a member of the SEC All-Freshman team.

Returning from a knee injury that cost him the second half of the season in 2013, Humphries started six games for Florida a season ago. Jones, who suffered a season-ending injury against LSU last season, has averaged 4.7 yards per carry during his first two seasons at Florida, and rushed for a career-high 176 yards against Kentucky last year.

Morrison, the team's second-leading tackler from a season ago totaled 56 tackles, 27 solo, despite missing four games. After missing the entire season last year, Debose, Florida's record breaking return specialist, returns to the field for the Gators. In his career, the redshirt senior has returned four kicks for touchdowns, the most in school history.

2014 marked the 12th consecutive year of the SEC Coaches Preseason All-SEC Teams. The Gators were one of seven schools with seven or more selections. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Florida opens the 2014 season at home on Saturday, Aug. 30, against Idaho at 7 p.m.
