Seeking depth, Jaguars sign veteran guard Pat McQuistan
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville
Jaguars have signed veteran guard Pat McQuistan in hopes of building
offensive line depth.
McQuistan, who is entering his eighth
NFL season, has started 11 of 72 career games. He has spent time with
Dallas, Miami, Tennessee, New Orleans and Arizona. He played in 12 games
for the Cardinals last season and started three.
The 6-foot-6, 317-pound lineman was
originally a seventh-round pick by the Cowboys in 2006. He spent four
seasons in Dallas, seeing action in 40 games at guard and tackle. He
started a career-high eight games in 2010 with Miami.
The Jaguars weren't pleased with their
second- and third-team lines during an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday,
so McQuistan could help bolster the backups.
Jacksonville now has one open roster spot remaining.
