CLEVELAND (AP) -- Carlos Santana capped and eight-run third inning with a three-run homer, leading the Cleveland Indians past Texas 12-3 on Wednesday to end the Rangers' seven-game winning streak.
Carlos Carrasco (6-4) allowed only Robinson Chirinos' solo homer in the fifth while pitching eight sharp innings. The right-hander held Texas to five hits and struck out eight.
Texas starter Colby Lewis (4-3) allowed 10 runs and 11 hits in 2 2-3 innings. He was chased in the third when the Indians sent 12 men to the plate.
The lopsided loss ended Texas' seven-game winning streak.
Josh Hamilton singled in the seventh for his first hit since returning to the Rangers on Monday, but was thrown out by left fielder Mike Aviles trying for a double. Hamilton is 1 for 11 in three games after being acquired from the Angels on April 27.
Hamilton, who had offseason shoulder surgery, crashed face first into the left field wall catching Jason Kipnis' line drive in the first inning. He briefly remained on the ground, but stayed in the game.
Santana, who was hit by a pitch on the left wrist Tuesday, ended Lewis' day by drilling a 2-0 pitch to dead center for his sixth home run of the season.
Kipnis was 3 for 5 and is batting .447 (46 for 103) in May. Lonnie Chisenhall had three hits, including a homer, and drove three runs, Nick Swisher also homered and Michael Bourn had three hits and two RBIs in the 17-hit attack.
Lewis, who labored through 74 pitches, lost for the first time since April 25.
Swisher's leadoff homer in the second put Cleveland ahead. Chisenhall entered the game in a 1-for- 17 skid.
