The newest star of the New Orleans Saints defense took to Twitter to express his grief over the passing of 95-year-old Buffalo Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. – one of the men who helped him begin his NFL career.

The Black and Gold's newest safety, three-time Pro-Bowler Jairus Byrd, spent the first five years of his career in Buffalo, after the Bills drafted him in the second-round of 2009.

Tuesday Byrd tweeted out:

Byrd made a tremendous impact on the Bills defense, blossoming into a starter early in his rookie year.

The Saints have high hopes for Byrd, who is expected to start alongside Kenny Vaccaro, now that New Orleans has parted ways with veterans Roman Harper and Malcolm Jenkins.
