The Columbus Blue Jackets introduced their two offseason acquisitions, winger Brandon Saad and center Gregory Campbell to the media Wednesday.

Saad was acquired in a seven-player trade with the Chicago Blackhawks and recently signed a six-year contract extension. Campbell signed a two-year contract as a free agent with the Blue Jackets, coming over from the Boston Bruins.

With the Bruins last season, Campbell had 6 goals on 70 shots along with 6 assists in 70 games. For the Blackhawks, Saad had 23 goals on 203 shots with 29 assists in 82 games.

Saad and Campbell are both eager to help the Blue Jackets reach new heights.

"We're both fortunate to be a part of great teams and have success," Saad said in Wednesday's press conference. "Coming here, even though we're the only two guys to win the Stanley Cup, there's a lot of good players here who are excited and passionate about getting there and achieving that."

Expectations have never been higher for the Blue Jackets, who led the NHL with 508 man-games lost last season. The Blue Jackets (42-35-5) went on a 15-1-1 run in March and finished last season on a franchise record 13-game unbeaten streak (12-0-1).

Both Saad and Campbell have the playoff experience to help a young roster. The two newcomers' total 27.3 percent of Columbus' combined playoff experience of 460 games.

With the additions of Saad and Campbell, the Blue Jackets were among NHL.com's most improved teams this offseason.
