Rustler Hustler and Ruthenia posted wins Sunday in a pair of $80,000 turf stakes for 2-year-olds at Belmont Park.
Rustler Hustler, the 4-5 favorite in the Gnome's Gold, rallied from last in the nine-horse field to beat Dual Citizen by 1 3/4 lengths. Ramon Dominguez was aboard for trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. as Rustler Hustler got his third win in five starts. He ran the 1 1-16 miles in 1:44.28 over the firm course, paying $3.90 to win.
Ruthenia edged Excited by three-quarters of a length in the Good Mood for fillies. Undefeated in two starts for the team of jockey Alan Garcia and trainer Christophe Clement, Ruthenia was timed in 1:43.18. She paid $5.90 to win.
