JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart was held out of the team's scrimmage because of leg tightness.

Coach Gus Bradley says Gerhart's absence Saturday night was "precautionary," adding that the former Minnesota Vikings backup should practice next week.

Jordan Todman got repetitions in place of Gerhart with the first-team offense.

The scrimmage was Jacksonville's only one before opening the preseason Friday against Tampa Bay.

All eyes were on quarterbacks Chad Henne and Blake Bortles. Henne completed 14 of 22 passes for 75 yards. Bortles, the third overall pick in May's NFL draft, was 9-of-13 for 79 yards and a touchdown.

The Jaguars expect Henne to be the starter in 2014 while Bortles takes at least part of the season to get acclimated to a pro-style system.
