Royals trim roster by seven with Opening Day around the corner

Hot-hitting infielder Frank Schwindel was one of seven Royals players sent to the minors Sunday.

The Kansas City Royals announced Sunday that the club has assigned the following players to minor league camp: pitchers Mike Broadway, Clay Buchholz and Seth Maness; infielders Humberto Arteaga and Frank Schwindel, and outfielders Billy Burns and Tyler Collins.

The Royals have 29 players in major league camp, including two non-roster invitees, Blaine Boyer and Ryan Goins.
