Royals to call up Finnegan, Adams and Gore
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Royals intend to call up left-hander Brandon Finnegan, the team's No. 1 pick this year, along with outfielders Lane Adams and Terrance Gore.
Before Sunday night's game, the Royals announced that they will recall Adams after tonight's game against the Indians. Adams is already on the 40-man roster.
Neither Finnegan nor Gore are on the 40-man roster, so subsequent moves to the 40-man roster will have to be made prior to their recall.
Adams was the team's ninth-round pick in 2009. He hit .269 with 11 homers and 36 RBI at Double-A Northwest Arkansas. He also stole 38 bases.
The Royals will add another base stealer in Gore, who stole 11 bases in 17 games at Triple-A Omaha this season.
Finnegan had a 1.33 ERA this season splitting time between Class A and Class AA.
Adams could be with the Royals as early as Monday. Gore and Finnegan likely will get here Tuesday after NWA's season ends.
