Royals' Tepesch sent to Omaha, Fuentes clears waivers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Royals announced a pair of moves on Friday, sending pitcher Nick Tepesch to Triple-A Omaha and making outfielder Rey Fuentes a free agent. 

The Royals claimed Tepesch, a right-hander, off waivers from the A's in July. Tepesch, a Mizzou product, has been with the Royals, Athletics, Rangers, and Dodgers organizations this year. 

The Royals also announced Fuentes is officially a free agent after the outfielder cleared unconditional waivers. Fuentes appeared in 13 games for Kansas City this year. 

Both players were designated for assignment September 6.
