Why was Scott Downs throwing a glove in the dirt like it called his mother a bad name? To help a ballboy, of course.

The Royals' reliever was caught having a little fun in Tampa Bay on Monday night, showing a Rays ballboy how to properly break in a new glove after a ball snuck by him in the sixth inning.

Apparently, all that's needed is a few Gronk spikes and a little dirt.

Have at it, kid. The glove has learned its lesson.
