Right-hander Neftalí Feliz won't be with the Royals when they open the second half of their season because he's about to become a daddy again.
The Royals placed the reliever on the paternity list Friday and recalled right-handed reliever Miguel Almonte from Triple-A Omaha.
Feliz, who has a daughter, has a 2.57 ERA in seven games with the Royals since being signed as a free agent in June, four days after he was released by the Brewers.
This is the fourth time the Royals have called up Almonte from the minors this season. He has a 13.50 ERA in two games (two innings) with Kansas City and has pitched for both Omaha (0.00 ERA in 11 2/3 innings) and Double-A Northwest Arkansas (1.86 ERA in 29 innings) in 2017.
