Royals option four players to minors

Pitchers Miguel Almonte, Jake Junis and Kevin McCarthy have been optioned to Triple-A Omaha and first baseman/outfielder Samir Dueñez was optioned to Double-A Northwest Arkansas, the Kansas City Royals announced Monday.

The Royals have 51 active players remaining in major league camp, not including left-hander Brian Flynn, who is on the 60-day disabled list. Of those 51 players, 16 are non-roster invitees.
