Royals community raising money for superfan shot during burglary
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Royals community has banded together to help support longtime fan Jimmy Faseler, who was shot during a burglary at his Independence home on Friday.
Faseler, who became well known among both the organization and its fans with his dance moves on the Kauffman Stadium Jumbotron, also helped bring Korean superfan SungWoo Lee to Kansas City last season.
Royals fans have created a GoFundMe.com campaign to help raise money for Faseler's recovery. So far, 218 people have donated a combined $9,125 since the campaign was started Sunday by Dave Darby. Fans have also used the hashtag #BounceBackJimmy to create awareness and support.
Thoughts and prayers to our friend and long-time #Royals fan, @jimmyfaseler.
