Royals bring up Colon, two others from Omaha

Christian Colon wasn't gone long.
After being sent down to Triple-A Omaha last week, Colon was recalled Tuesday. Also joining the big-league club are outfielder Daniel Nava and right-hander Kevin McCarthy, whose contracts were selected from the Storm Chasers.
To make room on their major league reserve list, the Royals designated outfielder Rey Fuentes and right-hander Nick Tepesch for assignment.
Colon, 27, was optioned to Omaha on Aug. 31. He has played in a career-high 47 games with the Royals this season and is batting .228 with five doubles and 10 RBIs. He hit .273 with five doubles, a homer and nine runs over 19 games at Omaha.
Nava, 33, was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels on Aug. 29 after batting .235 with five doubles, a homer and 13 RBIs in 45 big-league games in 2016. In 29 minor league games, including 25 at two Triple-A stops (Omaha and Salt Lake City), Nava hit .320 and recorded seven doubles, a homer, 13 RBIs and a .397 on-base percentage this season.
McCarthy, 24, is on a major league roster for the first time. A 16th-round draft pick in 2013, McCarthy pitched at both Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas this season, posting a combined record of 5-6 with a 3.04 ERA and holding the opposition to a .219 batting average in 47 relief appearances. He collected 16 saves in 22 opportunities, including 11-for-14 with the Naturals.
The Royals have 33 players on their active roster and 40 on the reserve list.
