His left ankle sprain sufficiently healed, outfielder Brett Eibner is back with the Kansas City Royals.

The team announced Thursday that Eibner has returned from his rehab assignment and has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list. Eibner was placed on the DL on June 1 after hurting his ankle while chasing a ball in the outfield.

Eibner, 27, was 6 for 13 (.462) with three doubles and two RBIs in four games with the Royals before the injury.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Royals optioned outfielder Reymond Fuentes to Triple-A Omaha. Fuentes was batting .317 with five RBIs in 41 at-bats with Kansas City this season.
