ST. LOUIS -- For a rookie NFL player trying to make a team, the worst word is "cut."
The second worst might be "haircut."
Veterans trimming the hair of newcomers is nothing new, and the St. Louis Rams -- led by defensive end Chris Long -- got in on the ritual Friday.
