Romo wouldn't play in preseason until ready to play full game

IRVING, Texas - Tony Romo says there are not an exact number of snaps he's planning to take Saturday in the Dallas Cowboys' third preseason game.

The Cowboys quarterback practiced Thursday after taking Wednesday off.

Romo was in for 14 plays last Saturday against Baltimore and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said to expect about the same amount of work in Miami.

While most teams treat the third preseason game like a dress rehearsal for the regular season, Romo isn't expected to see his normal workload.

Last year the Cowboys played five preseason games and treated the fourth like their dress rehearsal. Romo played the entire first half in that game, completing 13 of 18 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

Romo, who took 72 snaps during the preseason last year, only attempted five passes against Baltimore, however, he assured reporters that he can make every throw.

So would Romo be able to play a full game if the season started tomorrow?

"You play through a lot of stuff when you're playing," Romo said. "If this was obviously right after the surgery it would've been a different story, but at this point, yeah, there's no question you'd be playing a football game.

"I mean I don't know that you would go to play in the preseason if you didn't think you could play football. I mean it's football."
