Romo continues to be limited during Cowboys mini-camp

IRVING, Texas -- During the previous three weeks when media members have been permitted to watch organized team activities, Tony Romo has been working with a trainer on the side to begin the day. While his teammates stretch, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback jogs, back-pedals and sprints.

During the position drills and walk-through portions, Romo has been throwing to receivers. When the team has come together for team drills, Romo has not participated.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday that Romo will do about the same during next week's three-day mini-camp at Valley Ranch.

"We'll take him day-by-day like we do with all the other guys," Garrett said, "but I don't see it changing dramatically."

On Monday, Romo told the team's website that he could play in a game right now if needed, but is still not 100 percent recovered from his December back surgery to repair a herniated disc.

"I'm to a point where I can push it and kind of go, and I feel like at this point I could play in a game if I had to," Romo said. "Obviously you wouldn't want to right yet, just to let it completely scar up and heal in all the areas that you want. In the next couple weeks I think I'll be 100 percent."

Following mini-camp, the Cowboys are off until leaving for training camp next month.
